When asked about my way of teaching Pilates I respond with the fundamentals of breathing and centring, alignment and most of all flowing. I don’t stress the bulking of reps but try to gain the tone and lean effect by flowing into a sequence of exercises trying to leave hiccups out. The muscles have spindles. These transfer information to the brain when Feeling the resistance by toning and leaning the muscle itself to counteract gravity using our own body weight. Was nature meant to be diverse for each of us ? yes my neutral spine is nothing like yours just like fingerprints and DNA. But we all respond to gravity through the resistance imposed on our muscles spindles sending proprioceptive info to the brain to contract and hold against and across gravity.
